چکیده

Clinical case description: We report the of a patient who underwent double-pigtail ureteral stent (DPS) retrograde placement, following complicated right renal colic. After two days with persisting pain and hematuria, CT-Scan revealed proximal pigtail misplacement into inferior vena cava (IVC). In multidisciplinary approach, an endourological removal was performed, pulling distal loop cystoscope, while vascular surgery team performed femoral access phlebography during after DPS to prevent bleeding from IVC. Abdominal for laparotomy ready, anticipating potential bleeding. Relevance: placement is very frequent, usually uneventful procedure, but major complications may occur, such as one described in present case. It important know risk intravascular DPS, especially cases bad evolution or hematuria. Conclusion: migration rare potentially severe complication. An early detection collaboration between urology teams paramount perform minimally invasive events.
